MOBYA President Mr Gunn Kean Liang hospitalized

On behalf of Malaysian Outward Bound Youth Association (MOBYA), we would sincerely like to thank the following four persons in donating one pint each of "O" blood to Mr Gunn Kean Liang. (1) Ms Ooi Siaw Ling, (2) Mr Teoh Say Lim, (3) Mr Douglas Ng and (4) Mr Daniel Gunn.
Four of us, my wife Catherine and I, Val Allan and spouse Pauline Toh, went to Penang on 09.04.2015 with a fruit basket to cheer-up President Gunn Kean Liang at his sister's place at Kayangan Puri Mutiara Apartment in Tanjung Bungah. When Mr Gunn saw us he smiled and said to us: "Mr Allan, I am OK and I want a beer". We all laughed and were very surprised when he said that. Anyway, we all told him that we will get him the beer when he is completely well. Mr Gunn then thank me, Allan and our wives for driving all the way to cheer him up and we quickly said that it was our pleasure to see him in good shape.

To MOBYA CEC and Members,
Re: MOBYA President Gunn had a mild stroke.

I am sadden to inform all members that our President Gunn had a mild stroke on 20th Feb and was admitted to Island Hospital, Penang. I was told that he also had a swollen body which was due to some kidney problem as explained by the wife Sally. Mr Gunn has since been under kidney dialysis.

In view of the above, our President has requested that the Deputy President Mr. P. Rangasamy to take over the business of the association. I have since asked Mr Ooi Ark Heng to send a fruit basket.

Best regards

Dear all, Gunn has been discharged from Island Hospital and now recuperating in his sister's home in Penang Island. He has to go back for physio to strengthen his legs and also dialysis on Monday, Wednesday and Friday as his kidneys are affected.

As for the stroke, luckily it is mild. Now he is able to walk with the aid of walker and me (supporting him from the back) to ensure he does not fall down.

Thanks so much to Ark Heng, who has been coming over to support and at times help to transport him to Island Hospital. Thanks to Mobya Pg and Mobya National buddies for your well wishes, goodies and speedy recovery prayers for Gunn.

We hope and pray he recovers fast to be able to be back to normal activities . Our sincere apologies for not being able to carry out his duties as President for Mobya Pg and Mobya National at this point of time.

Best regards to all,
Sally Gunn

Dear Mobya buddies, good morning and many thanks for your continuous prayers and caring hearts for Gunn . As of today, with God's Blessing , his dialysis and various blood tests, he continues to maintain his current health, improving day by day. Hopefully, he gains strengths after today's blood transfusion. He needs lots of physio daily to strengthen his muscles as he is too weak to even stand up on his own. Unfortunately, this is his 3rd admission to hospital since 2nd day of CNY, last week being down with Pneumonia and now extensive stroke . Because of this weakness, he is also experiencing hallucinations which is quite scary.

My sincere thanks for visiting him to cheer him up. I am sure he will be very glad. Please do not bring any fruit basket and save the $ for Mobya's activities. Your presence and continuous prayers is good enough to cheer us.

Btw, 8th April is a Wednesday for dialysis, so he should be back at home after 5.00pm. Dialysis days are Mon/Wed/Fri. I will give the address and travel coordinates soon.

Warmest regards to everyone,
Sally (012-4056054)
